In the chalk and stone quarry, Merstham. Circa 1950. W.G. Tharby.
The track near Merstham Quarry running down to Quarry Dean Farm. The CM&GI Railway ran some yards to the right of the hedge. Stone sleepers used as protection to lawn outside the Manager's
house, which at the time of the Iron Railway was a mill where chalk and stone was ground.
