"One of the remaining bridges of the Croydon, Merstham and Godstone Iron Railway.
(Opened July 1804 dismantled 1838) at Hooley. This bridge is used as a cycle shed and is the only one not completely buried. Only the upper bridge-work of the older two remain to be seen above ground." 29th April 1956. J.H. Plowman.
